Crush.
Crush is one of the most beautiful times of year in Napa Valley. Beginning late August, the grape sugar level (or brix) reaches its optimum stage, and vineyards begin the process of picking, crushing and straining the grapes that will be used to make Napa Vale wines. If you’re a wine connoisseur, crush is the perfect time to learn about how wine is made and watch winemakers in action. Many vineyards host open houses and community events during crush season. One of the highlights is STOMP (August 29th), where you can meet Napa Valley’s renowned grape growers, while enjoying gourmet cuisine, live music, and lots of awesome wine..
