Meet the chef of the newest restaurant in Napa Valley

Zanty Tesorero

With a diverse career in food and beverage, Chef Zanty Tesorero brings extensive proficiency to his role as Executive Chef at ALBA. Tesorero combines his culinary skills with his passion for the restaurant and catering industry, paying homage to the local foodways and devoting ALBA’s menu to great mixology, good times, and superior cooking.

Chef Tesorero’s career in food and beverage began in San Francisco, where he attended the California Culinary Academy. Following culinary school he developed a variety of restaurant brands and concepts. He began his restaurant career by honing his culinary skills at Campton Place, a Michelin Star restaurant located in the prestigious Union Square neighborhood of San Francisco. He then took on a role as opening chef and consultant, designing menus and building a team to execute east coast cuisine, at a small independent fine dining restaurant in San Francisco; and as his Bay Area culinary immersion progressed he then moved into the Silicon Valley culinary scene at the Fours Seasons Palo Alto at their Quattro restaurant.

Career highlights include rising up the ranks in various Bay Area restaurants and catering companies, including work with various James Beard nominated chefs and restaurateurs before finding his home in Napa Valley and beginning his tenure at Meritage Resort and Spa where he spent the last several years familiarizing him self with the flavors and local purveyors of the region.

Chef Tesorero currently resides in Napa, CA, looking to create magic at ALBA.

Taking his cue from former mentors and restaurants, Chef Tesorero crafted a menu for ALBA that is both locally-sourced and internationally inspired. His experience has given him the ability to take seemingly innocuous ingredients to create memorable meals.

You can taste his culinary background in some of the more interesting signature dishes offered by Chef Tesorero and ALBA. His take on Filet Mignon is always on point and our signature ALBA burger is unforgettable. Our ahi tuna tacos are a taste sensation. In keeping with our Napa heritage, we offer a charcuterie and cheese board that pairs beautifully with local vintages.

With appetizers ranging from seemingly simple salads to pork belly crepes to a flight of ahi tuna tacos, there is something for every taste.

Our main courses are sure to please, with options ranging from our signature ALBA burger to cedar plank salmon.
