Yountville
From the Yountville Market to the eclectic shopping options, Yountville is a fun town. Some people believe, incorrectly, that Yountville has the most Michelin stars per capita. It is true, however, that there are several truly excellent dining options in Yountville. It is home to Domaine Chandon California, and to Thomas Keller’s French Laundry, Ad Hoc and Bouchon. As well, you’ll find Philippe Jeanty’s Bistro Jeanty and Redd Wood. If you’re looking for a meal to go, try the Yountville Market.

St. Helena
A forgotten town that really should be visited more. Restaurateurs are gaining experience in St. Helena at The Culinary Institute of America at Greystone. The Culinary Institute, one of the finest culinary schools in the world, is also home to several restaurants. Other notable St. Helena features include the Carnegie Library, Beringer Vineyards and the Charles Krug Winery.

Calistoga
No visit to Napa is complete without a visit to Calistoga Springs for the mud and natural spring baths. The first spa was opened in 1862, with the intent of making it the Saratoga Springs, New York of California. If you like to buy Calistoga sparkling water, you can visit the place it was first tapped – in a candy store in town! Calistoga is also home to California’s Old Faithful, a truly faithful geyser that has been erupting here since the late 19th century when someone drilling for water accidentally reopened a dead geyser.

Sonoma
Sonoma, the “other” primary wine region in California, was home to five Native American tribes before the first Europeans arrived. The town was originally created in 1823 as a Mexican mission which then evolved into the Pueblo of Sonoma. The town still retains some of the colonial charm from this period. The first vines were planted by the mission. The town of Sonoma is considered the birthplace of California wine making as well being credited with the introduction of the Zinfandel/ Primitivo grape varietal.
